All i can taste is the moment...and all i can breath is your life...

Lyrics from Isis by the Goo Goo Dolls, what an amazing song. Anyone seen Ronan Keating's new version of it? In my opinion he sings it pretty well but after seeing his video for the second time, i realised it was actually pretty gay and i now have a lower opinion of it. Funny how a video can just make a song what it is isn't it?
For example...that song a few years ago, the one by Shaggy...can't even remember what it was called but it became really popular amongst lots of different people because of the video being so class.

Since France i've gotten really into the Red Hot Chili Peppers (and yes i know how to spell it now). In our car, the citroen, woo! We had the CD on a lot, i think it was greatest hits, so obviously, a lot of good songs. It was class. Then one horrific day we went to play it and found to our great dismay that it was GONE! -_-! Hmm...turns out that the asessor Stephan had stolen it back because it was actually his CD or something, we were most distressed. The good Eagles CD was taken too...-_-...no more listening to Hotel California, which is pretty good. A line that Emma C is currently using as her MSN name from it "some dance to remember, others dance to forget"...or at least i think that's the line...something similar anyways.... :S

Realised that i haven't actually talked much about France in the blog here, so will do a bit now.

First of all, we arrived in France, to a thunderstorm, not to pleasant. It was really humid and we already felt gross from all the travelling, never mind adding humidity to the equation. We got to the cars before the rain started, luckily enough because when it rains in France, it rains. Over here the rain may last all day but it's still just a drizzel...in France, the rain is really heavy and you'd get soaked right through if you stayed in it for too long.
The next day we had to do our acclimatization walk...it started nice and we were all enjoying ourselves. However, we got to a forest at one point in the walk and got lost...a thunderstorm started. Dunno if anyone has ever experienced a thunderstorm in France but they're a hell of a lot scarrier than the ones here. The thunder is louder and the lightning flashes come a lot more frequently. Prehaps it was the fact that we were in a forest at the time of the storm was the reason it seemed scarrier.
When you're a little kid, you learn "never take shelter under a tree in a thunderstorm", seriously, all little children know that. And where were we? In a bloody forest! Not to pleasant i assure you. And the fact that i was wearing my "waterproof" coat didn't help me much, as it does a pathetic attempt at keeping rain out....didn't end up being too miserable though, very surprisingly.

We started the expedition the next day, which a lot of people weren't too fussed on doing because there were more thunderstorms forcasted, however we did and i'm glad of it because the weather the next day was great.
I can't actually remember most of the actual expedition..i just remember there being a few deadly climbs here and there. The start of the second day was pure evil. We spent the whole morning climbing up this massive mountain and then when you think that you've reached the top...there's another bit to climb...don't you just hate when that happens?
Oo i forgot to mention the best part of the expedition. On the end of the first day, we got to visit a sheep museum! :D...i kid you not...a museum in this little village dedicated to the history of their sheep and cows, there was even a movie...which wasn't acutally too bad, it was just the fact that we all got to bed after 11 the night before and had to be up for 5 or something equally rediculous, that everyone fell asleep. Oops is all that can be said. The assessor Stephan got annoyed at us...

By the third day, we were all in that, "i don't care" sort of mood and we took breaks every 15mins or so...we were all just being incredibly lazy..it was like that on our 3rd day in the Mournes too. You just feel that "eugh, i still have another day left after this! What's the point in rushing??"...so we didn't go too quickly that day.
We reached the end of the route card quickly enough though and did as it told us and waited at the Y-junction for the leaders to appear. We waited...waited some more...began to get just a tad fustrated. There was also noone answering us on the radio. Since we had nowhere to go and nothing to do, we all tryed to get some sleep, most people did fall asleep, i tried but couldn't...twas annoying. Hmm i remember using Stephan as a pillow, cause his arm was keeping me warm, as it was getting kinda cold just sitting on top of a mountain with cold wind blowing over from the glacial lakes.
We got into contact with Darius after about 2 1/2 hours or so and he informed us that assessor Stephan had met them and told them they were camping by the glacial lakes. So Stephan asked him "so we're camping by the big glacial lakes?" and Darius said Roger that. So off we went up there.
The glacier was cold and not very exciting and occasionally we heard loud cracks and rocks went slidding into the lake. We stayed there for ages and it was boring, we were cold, hungry and exhausted..none of us were in too good a mood and water supplies were running low. Thing is about in the Alps, you can't drink the water form the rivers there because there's some bacteria in it that purification tablets cant' kill and the water up by the glacier has too many minearls in it and because we're not used to it, it'd just make us sick.
We got into contact with Darius again after a bit and found out where the campsite actually was. By the time we actually got there, we had wasted 4 1/2 hours -_-, noone was too happy at all. So when the leaders, Michael and Raymond came down in a bit, we yelled at them a lot. Noone was too happy at assessor stephan at all. The other group, who were soo much slower had been told where to go and had been given water! And apparantly we didn't get these privledges because we were "too fast"..pftt my ass...we were right on time! -_-

Enough of the expedition though. I'm going to have to write about it in my dk of ed diary anyway, so there's no point just having to rewrite everything.

Meh i couldn't really be bothered writing too much more on France. I've talked about the rest of it enough to everyone now anyway. Best activity was the white water rafting, that's all you need to know lol. Ohh and the fact that we went ice climbing, up a glacier, that actually looks like one lol.

Ohh and yesterday i thought that i should look back and see when my blog's birthday is, so i did this morning and it turns out that it's today! :D so happy birthday bloggy! lol
And so i know anyone who read this borthered to read to the end, say happy birthday to the blog if you're commenting, which you should be doing if you're reading! :P

over and out!

Happy birthday blog!

And I think that you'll find that song is 'Iris' not Isis. Lynsey Russell arranged it for string quartet for one of her Music compositions.

Ronan Keating = Complete and Utter Bastard.

On the upside, I'm hearing the original version more than the bad one I'm not too fussed.

Ah yes, the joys of "waterproof" coats that aren't actually waterproof... I learnt my lesson from my bronze. When I got my coat this time I actually took it home and got my dad to hose me down to make sure it was waterproof.
